In times of rising prices for raw materials and energy, the recycling of valuable raw materials becomes more and more important for the economic situation of a foundry.
In addition to the existing systems for the melting of return material, the melting of Al chips is becoming increasingly important. In the production of cast aluminium parts, the in-house recycling of chips is a very intelligent way to use material. Thus, the costs, among other things, for the purchase of raw materials (ingots, ingot stacks) can be significantly reduced.
To re-melt chips requires an efficient technique that allows the remelting in the absence of air. Only in this way is it possible to ensure a maximum metal yield.
For chip recycling, StrikoWestofen developed melting units that meet these requirements. These units have a chip melting capacity of 300 to 2,000 kg / h. For smaller quantities or for occasional recycling needs, the combined StrikoMelter^® with chip recycling option is used.
